This beautiful illustration shows Jacques Charles and Nicolas Marie-Noel Robert flying over the Palace of Versailles in a hydrogen-filled balloon. they are waving flags, having lifted off from the Tuileries Gardens, Paris. Throngs of spectators are bearing witness to the first manned gas balloon flight.

Thank you for taking a moment to explore my artwork. I live and work in Maine. With my camera, I travel throughout the state and New England exploring seaside towns and seeking out elements that spark inspiration and interest. Here you will find two things: First, collections of my photographical interests. These include exploring the unseen or often overlooked details within our built environment with a focus on iron, wood and the sea. Generally, I seek to capture the beauty and interest in the small things - the parts rather than the whole.
